Research Statement

My primary area of research interest and contribution stems from my research work conducted at Freie University, Berlin, Germany. My research was focused on the transformation of land property rights and gender relations in Meghalaya, India.

Secondly, my academic and professional journey has focused on gender issues. As a faculty and domain expert, my focus has been on curriculum development on gender, reproductive health and life skills education for university students as well as with the Meghalaya Multisectoral Project for Adolescent Wellbeing, Empowerment and Resilience (MPOWER), a project of the Government of Meghalaya, India. I have also been associated with a project on Sexuality and Personal Safety Education with Enfold Proactive Health Trust, Bangalore. Part of this project resulted in the content development of the Social Work Handbook on Demystifying Sexuality, 2021.

Community engagement on gender and climate change has also been an area of engagement. Lastly, in association with the Planning, Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Department, Government of Meghalaya, my contribution has been towards identifying community driven interventions on development for policy advocacy across the state of Meghalaya.
